Hallo zusammen, ich mache zur Zeit einen USA Urlaub per Auto. Heute wollte ich das Pacific Bell Telephone Museum 140 New Montgomery St. San Francisco. Leider ist das Gebäude geschlossen da es nicht mehr sicher ist und modernisiert werden muss :-(. Kennt jemand an der Westküste sonst noch ein interessantes Museum? Ab morgen werde ich von San Francisco nach San Diego fahren. Wenn mir also jemand einen Tipp geben kann wäre ich super dankbar :-). bei interesse werde ich dann evnetuelle Bilder und info´s gerne zur verfügung stellen :-) Dieser Beitrag wurde nachträglich editiert! |

Dieser Text bezieht sich auf den Beitrag von Dietrich vom 10.05.2010!  Danke für die Antworten :-). An Stockten waren wir leider dann auch schon vorbei. Das winchestermysteryhouse.com war auf unserer Route eingeplant das war echt mal interessant. Dafür habe ich wenigstens auf der Queen Mary ein paar telefone gesehen bei Interesse werde ich diese nach unserer rückkehr hier mal posten. |

Hallo! Ein interessantes Museum in Kalifornien ist das JKL Museum of Telephony in der Nähe von Stockton. Hier aus dem Internet der Einführungstext: John K. La Rue’s Museum of Telephony, part of the American Museum of Telephony, is dedicated to preserving telephone history. The museum contains telephones and related items from the dawn of telephony (late 1800s) to the present day. One of the Museum’s goals is to have working telephones from all eras. Many Mid-20th Century phones are already connected to the working Step Switch or XY Switch in the Museum's vintage ‘Central Office.’ The Museum also includes a technical library which is full of telephone related books, catalogs, technical journals and practices. The museum purchases collections and individual telephones and parts. We also accept tax deductible donations in the name of the ‘American Museum of Telephony.’ In some cases we have duplicate items that are available for trade. Please enjoy the Museum pictures at your leisure. If you have questions or comments, please email us. We’re always happy to correspond with other collectors or interested people.
